Warm Arms

I founded Limbrr in 2003 at a Chicago area seasonal artists’ sale called depART-ment, where I received extremely positive initial feedback. At that time, the bulk of my work was constructed from upcycled sweaters lined with stretch jersey fabric. With my background in textile design and my work as Production Manager for a high-end wallcovering manufacturer, color and texture form the dominant language in my life.


Cutting sweaters with sharp scissors and pairing two layers of color and texture was an immediately satisfying discovery. I had a vintage silver tank top that I loved, but it was scratchy and uncomfortable to wear. One day I decided to cut it up and line it with some grey t-shirt material, and to this day, the resulting pair of armwarmers serve as my inspiration… for Limbrr, fashionable accessories for warmth.

Growing up in the midwest, I’ve seen my share of cold winters. I’ve long subscribed to the practice of layering clothing both for warmth and style. When it comes to my arms, this means a pair of handmade armwarmers. Back in grade school basketball days, I learned the trick of applying cold water to my wrists to quickly cool my hot stuff off! Now, I’m using this knowledge in reverse, warming my whole self by wrapping wrists with insulating foxiness. Try them out yourself, and I know you’ll find you too can be both stylish and warm despite Chicago’s winter chill!
